My First Bible Questions

Luke 2:15 (NASU) When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds [began] saying to one another, "Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us."
16 So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.

Jesus was born in a town called Bethlehem.

The reason Jesus was born there is that the Romans were taking a count of all the people and if you were the head of a family you had to resister how many people were in your house.

Joseph was Mary's husband and would not leave her when she was so close to giving birth to Jesus.
