(Used by permission Thomas Nelson Publishers) | Jona 1:17 (NASU) And the Lord appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the stomach of the fish three days and three nights. Jona 2:10 (NASU) Then the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land. Jonah was disobedient to God. God ask him to go and preach to the people of Nineveh so that they might repent their wicked ways and come to know the Lord. Jonah knew in his heart that God would accept their repentence and forgive them. Jonah did not like the people of Nineveh so that is why he refuesed to go. But Jonah went anyway and sure enough the people repented and come to know the Lord. |
