Josh 10:12 (NASU) Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, "O sun, stand still at Gibeon, And O moon in the valley of Aijalon."

Joshua ask the Lord to stop the sun and moon to show the world that God was the one who was fighting their battles for them.

Joshua ask for a miracle and the Lord gave it to him. Joshua was just an ordinary man who loved God with all his heart and did everything God ask him to do.
