A winner .... works harder and has more time
A loser .... is always too busy to do what is necessary
Colossians 3:23: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and
not unto men; 24: Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of
the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Rom:14:8: For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we
die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
Life at times can be incredibly demanding. Family, friends, work, personal
items, and emergencies fend for our time. Winners work hard, play hard, and
always seem to have time for the right thing to do. That is tough. Many
times I've heard the comment that no one would at the end of their life say
they wish they had spent more time at the job instead of their family. But
what is the right balance. How do those "winners" in life keep it all
balanced and working?
The key is God's balance. Do we do what we do as unto the Lord or as unto
men? Are we fulfilling family time as unto our children and spouse or
relatives or as unto the Lord? What a great loss it would be to go up to
God ready to brag about a great family life only to have Him look at us and
ask why we did not fulfill the missionary call on our life. Any time spent
as unto us or others but not to Him is a tragedy no matter how good it
looks.
Jn:5:19: Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto
you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for
what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Jesus lived this way. He left family and friend and journeyed out to do
what the Father wanted Him to do.
Losers live life for their own agenda and liking. How many do we see daily
who are lagging in energy and always talking about never having enough
family time, time to do work, time with their spouse, etc..... We do have
control over the way we use and view our time. When it is done unto the
Lord instead of unto others, it is always enough. He builds a sense of
satisfaction and comfort in what is accomplished.
Losers get caught up in habits of life reasoned by life and philosophy
instead of love and service to God. Our habits really begin to change when
done as unto the Lord. Many times they go away.
Do the important instead of the urgent. Do what the Father is speaking to
you. Can't figure out what He wants you to do? Then spend the time with
Him until you do. Why waste your life spinning on items that may have no
value whatsoever in the end. Talk to Him. Listen to Him. Get busy with
those items and He will make you a winner. And remember, whatever you do,
do it as unto Him... Even if it is the wrong thing He will make it turn
right.mailto:plarson@copwoc.org
How can I change an old habit that is just that into something God wants me
to do?mailto:plarson@copwoc.org
Are you ready to find out what is important? Are you ready to give up
lifelong ideas? mailto:plarson@copwoc.org
Father, Convince me. Show me. Encourage me to the right items to spend my
time. Help me to give it all unto You every day. Whatever I do, I dedicate
to you. I present my body as a living sacrafice, pleasing and acceptable.
