Joshua 1:9: Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be
not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest.
The little things mean so much. Early in the morning flipping the loops of
my tie, I heard the soft sure knock of Luke at the bedroom door. What
crisis loomed? What importunate important matter was demanding dad's priority
attention? Jeans. New Jeans. "Don't I look good, Dad?" He quizzed for
approval. He had on his Jenco jeans.
Our budget never was large enough for such faddish luxuries. Yet,
the Lord had dropped these from heaven just for Luke. He had not even asked, they
just happened in the regular shopping of life. Now they wrapped themselves
around his ego as much as his body.
Flip the light switch. Take an inspector's stand and glance. "Looks
great! You really make those clothes look good." Then the beaming boy can bounce
to his day with the Father's approval.
This is much like our prayer life. Take time each morning to get
your Father's approval. A moment to listen and stand before Him. A word of
approval from the Creator. Then you can bounce beaming into your day with
His shine on your face.
II Cor 4:6 For it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who
has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the Glory of
God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 124:1 "If it had not been the Lord who was on our side."
Life attacks. The world presses.
The Lord is on my side.
Days drag. Weeks weary. Months moan.
The Lord is on my side.
The soul despairs. The mind wanders. Vision dims.
The Lord is on my side.
Hope springs fresh from deep cisterns.
Joy blossoms from the wells of salvation.
Love overcomes all .
