Knowing God : Knowing God In Spirit Impact

Rom:8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom:8:4: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who
walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2Cor:6:16: And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are
the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and
walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Changed Lives
Knowledge of God is not meant to be an inactive item lain on the shelf of
shuffling procrastinations or in the cabinet of criticism or in the attic of
over analysis. Knowledge of God is meant to change our lives. He is the
God of the living not the dead. Are we dead in Christ or alive in Christ.
Are we in Christ? Are we temples of His Holy Spirit being modified on an
hourly basis to be more like Him? Knowledge of God is active, sharper than
any two edged sword, dividing asunder to the points of separation of mind,
heart, soul, spirit, decisions, will, intent, and motivation.

Genesis Revelation: Transcendence Genesis:41:37: And the thing was good in
the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants. :38: And Pharaoh
said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the
Spirit of God is?

God transcends the external. He is spirit; we are spirit in His image.
Spirit to spirit we are changed as we see Him and know Him. So much is the
change effective that others can see yet not understand. The unseen touch
of God astounds them and us.

Jesus Revelation: Truth John:14:17: Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world
cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know
him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The Spirit of God is a Spirit of truth. There is no falsity, no faking in
them. That Spirit shows Himself and transcends us. Truth will change us.

More Than I Am
This morning was tough. James had been a trooper. Working days, going to
school at nights, and witnessing at the flea market on the weekends, he was
pooped. Dark circles formed under his languishing eyes.

The opportunity clock went off at 6am as it had for the last eight weeks on
Saturday morning. "Where am I going to get some strength?", he thought to
himself. Physically there was just nothing there. Mentally there was just
nothing there. Spiritually he knew had to get up.
"Who will get the table, wait in line for booth space, pay the fee, set up,
lay out the books, and get ready for the other workers if I don't?" The
questions just kept coming. Not from his mind, but from somewhere deeper,
the demand for action kept ringing. The clock was silenced but his inner
man would not be quieted to return to snooze mode.

"Father, it will have to be You. I simply have no strength left," he
prayed. With a certain superhuman energy he rose, dressed and went out.
The day was like no other. It seemed that people were responding to the
blessing of the gospel as no other day. James knew he had left himself that
morning and entered into someone more than he was.

Taking Inventory:

Where are you lacking energy to do what you know to do?

When was the last time you simply did not act because you felt unable or
insufficient for the task?

Taking Action:

Get ready for some insight. In our journey with God, we find ourselves
being ourselves. That is the point we need to drop and be Him. This
treasure of Christ we have in these earthen shells that others would see Him
not us. But we have to let Him transcend us.

Write down your worst weakness. Be honest. Anger? Lethargy? Commitment?
Jealousy? Envy? Strife? Gossip? Workaholism? Worry? Rest? Follow
through????.

Now make an honest commitment to let Him intervene on your next instance.
Look up a scripture solution (a scripture that describes the right way not
your way) and memorize it. Yes, memorize it. Rehearse it every day until
you know that you have walked through an incident where you would have
slipped, but with His empowerment did exactly the opposite.

After you know He did it. Tell someone about it. Be a witness.

Prayer For Transcendence:

Father, You are more than I am. It is You I want others to see. Help me
become invisible to the world. Overwhelm my inadequacies with Your adequacy.
Superimpose Your love over my flesh and enable me to be like You.
