Jude 20 "But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit
In one of my previous notes I asked a question about who do we put our
confidence in or where is your faith? I guess the question arises
anew this morning, because our passage says, "building up yourselves
on your most holy faith." Yet, what faith do we build in? For if we
build on the wrong foundation, when the storms of life shall come and
they will come, our house will surely crumble and fall.
Least we ponder this question all morning, I must say that I believe
brother Jude knew exactly who to place is faith in for the concluding
verses of Jude say....
"Now into Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present
you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. To
the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and
power both now and ever. AMEN" (Jude 24-25)
And the finally word is "AMEN" or let it be so! This is Jude's way of
saying this is something that I can put my trust in, something I can
depend on. As many found out, there are many things that we place our
trust in that is just not able to stand. We may love our jobs, our
family and friends, but they are was just not able, and neither are we
of ourselves, but there is one who is able...God. This is why it is
important to strive to build and maintain our faith in Him by walking
and meditating in His Word and most of all by continuous prayer.
Yes, PRAYER for there is always room for more prayer. Prayer is our
open line to God. It is said that prayer is the key and that faith,
our faith... unlocks the door to a joyful Christian life.
For I want you to know that we who are earnest and sincere have
discerned that PRAYER is ...
...the ELEVATOR that lifts us out of the dumps unto the delightful,
out the valleys unto the mountain-tops
...the ARMORY, where we become equipped to do battle against Satan
and sin
...the VESTIBULE (Lobby or Waiting Area), where our soul is prepared
to enter into the presence of the Almighty God
...the AVENUE, that takes us past the trivial and the temporal, on
to the blessed eternal
...the DOOR, whereby we may draw nigh to God and God draws nigh to
us
...the STATION, where our soul is serviced and is brought in 'tune'
to the will of the Master (Fill'r Up!)
...the ALTAR where selfishness, lusts, carnality, and pride are
slain and sacrificed before God
While I'm on my Mission LORD would You guide me!...He does guide us...
through prayer. For you you see all of us who are on this Christian
journey, we must continue pray without ceasing! WHY? That our faith
will not falter and we must do it in the spirit of the LORD. Do you
know that our greatest victories have been won through much prayer and
supplication unto to God. Prayer is the great shield that protects us
from the fiery darts of the devil in this battle to get the Promised
Land. The fiery darts of the devil are not unto death but they can
sure take away your joy and peace. Keep up the shield of faith, stay
alert, and stand ready for battle for there is a war going on.
