Crumbs From the Table

TO THEM OF LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH

John 10:30 "I and my Father are one"

This Sunday, June 15th is Father's Day, a day that we give honor to fathers, a time that we give encouragement and thanks to those who stand as true fathers.

Ephesians 6:2-3 says, "Honor your FATHER and mother, which is the first commandment with promise: That it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth."

You know that there are so many dads who have been tagged as deadbeat dads, wife abusers, child molesters, and the list goes on. So it is important that we give honor to those who have stood the test of time who are not just baby makers, but who have raised up Godly standards and to give us direction in our lives. Even for those who were not the most godly of fathers, the examples and impressions that they place before us shall be forever etched in us. For me personally, my father passed when I was only 18 years old and though he was not a very spiritual man, he taught me to be a man, how to stand up on my own two feet and how to deal with life.

In our passage this morning, Jesus says, "I and my Father are one." In short, like father like son, everything that my Father is and does, I shall do. In the world that we live in today, we need men who like Jesus will follow in the footsteps of the Father that our children and families may follow in our footsteps. We need God fearing men. Men of integrity. Men who will raise the standard which is Jesus in our lives. Men who are covenant and promise keepers not promise breakers.

LADIES: If you have a godly mate; praise him, encourage him, follow him for great shall be the blessings that God has in store for you. If your mate does not line up to Godly principles...Take it to God in prayer...Prayer changes things!

GODLY FATHERS

God had something special in mind when He made the first father. He assigned him a specific role in life. All of a father's activities
are measured against that standard.

A little boy needs a father. He needs someone to teach him how to be a man, to take him by the hand and lead him through the maze of life, to teach him to be strong, gentle, loving, and to be a defender of the right.

A little girl needs a father, too. She need a father to protect her,
to counsel her on life's problems, to teach her how to be a woman.

The home needs a father to serve as provider, protector, spiritual
leader, and counselor. While the world seldom hears what a father
says to his children, the effects of his counsel will be felt by the
next generation and the next, and the next.

The Bible has these words of instruction for fathers: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church" (Ephesians 5:25). Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the LORD" (Ephesians 6:4).

BROTHERS: Do you carry the image of the Father in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ? For Jesus says, "I and my Father are one." Like Father like Son! If you are falling short, there is no better time to pick up the slack and stand tall for God! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Have a Blessed Day and a Beautiful Weekend...Be PRAYERFUL and THANKFUL for all things!!!
