A Deacon Speaks

The Brick Wall

Endurance athletes refer to it as "The Brick Wall." It's that agonizing painful period, fairly early in a race, when the runners body just doesn't want to keep going.
Experienced competitors know that once they get through "THE BRICK WALL", things get much easier and they can just keep going and going.
In fact, the next milestone period is referred to as "The High Road" -- the absolute excitement and success that lies just on the other side of "THE BRICK WALL."

This same profile or period occurs in any directed effort, whether in business, relationships, or other kinds of projects. It's so easy to get started on something. You have plenty of excitement, dreams and energy. Once you're up and running, you begin to approach the BRICK WALL. - Bang ! That's where the vast majority of people give up. it the point of success or failure, that's where you are met head on by the difficult challenges.

It is what separates winners from all the rest. As you approach the "BRICK WALL" it is NOT THE TIME to rest, take a break, or cruise or the time to give up. THIS is when you gather all your strength, knowledge, spirit and will, and get through the BRICK WALL. Meet the difficult challenges early on, and keep pressing ahead. You'll soon be over and pass the "BRICK WALL". Then all of a sudden the "BRICK WALL" crumbles and you walk pass the broken pieces down the "High Road" to SUCCESS.

It sure beats, quitting, and having to start all over again.

Prayer: Dear God, be with me as I strengthen my faith in you, to break through my BRICK WALLS - Amen
