Gethsemani

Matt 26:36 (KJS) Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. 37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt]. 40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

Left: Entrance to the Garden.

We had the priviledge of staying here for one hour and praying anywhere we wanted.

I feel upon my face by one of the Olive trees and praised God for His grace and Mercy.

I praised Him for His promise of a new Covenant.

Hebr 4:15 (KJS) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.

Left: Picture of what the Garden looks like today.

This Garden is across from the Kidron Valley, East of the Temple Mount.

It was here Jesus agonized over having to leave the presence of his Father. Jesus was 100% human and had the same feelings you and I have today.

Jesus wanted what God wanted and that was for you and I to have a way to be back in rightful relationship with Him. What Jesus did was to make a way for that to happen.

Left: Looking from the Garden towards the Temple Mount you will see the East Gate.

This is the same gate Jesus will use when he returns.

He will take his rightful place as King and ruler of this world for one thousand years.

Satin will be cast into the pit and bound for that same time.
