Matt 3:13 (KJS) Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
Matt
3:16 (KJS) And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of
the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the
Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17
(KJS) And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased.

West we see Jericho:(In
New Testament times Jericho stood some distance to the Southeast of the
ancient
one, and near the opening of the valley of Achor. It was a rich and
flourishing
town, having a considerable trade, and celebrated for the palmtrees
which adorned the plain around. It was visited by our Lord on his last
journey
to Jerusalem. Here he gave sight to two blind men |

after being baptized in the River Jordan. Matt 3:11 (KJS) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire: Matt 28:19 (KJS) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: {teach...: or, make disciples, or, Christians of all nations}

The spring that keeps Jordan so lush and
fertile. This is said to be the spring that Elisha
threw the
salt in to make it sweet. |
2Kin
2:19 (KJS) And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray
thee, the situation of this city [is] pleasant, as my lord seeth: but
the water [is] naught, and the ground barren. 20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought [it] to him. 21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren 22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake. |
